The
Internet has become a household item in the past few years. More people
are going online everyday. This page serves as a basic lesson in the
what and why of the Internet.
The Internet is not one thing; rather it is a network of computers,
linked together via many high speed connections. Client computers (like
your desktop) request information from servers (like Netmar's servers),
and the information is transmitted by cables and directed by routers.
Information is passed down these cables in binary code (zeros and ones).
The Internet encompasses all these data transactions and the methods
by which they get from point A to point B.
